I first met Holly years before her wedding day, when I photographed her graduation photos in Chicago. I remember her being one of those people who was just easy to be around, warm, happy and with the kind of smile that made my job pretty easy.
Fast forward a few years and I got to photograph her again, except this time she was getting married.
There’s something really special about getting to photograph different seasons of someone’s life, and seeing Holly again on her wedding day felt very full circle for me.
A Wedding at Bay View Weddings at Gallagher Farm
Holly and Gabe were married at Bay View Weddings at Gallagher Farm in Cedar, Michigan, surrounded by their family and friends. Their ceremony took place outside overlooking the vineyard and Lake Michigan, which is a pretty incredible backdrop to get married in front of.
But what I remember most wasn’t just how beautiful everything looked. It was how happy these two were and how much their people were part of the day.
After the ceremony, everyone made their way to the white tent for the reception, where the rest of the night was exactly what a wedding should be: celebrating, laughing, being with the people you love and having a really good time.
For me, getting to photograph Holly walking down the aisle years after photographing such a different milestone in her life was one of those little reminders of why I love what I do.
You never really know when you photograph someone where life is going to take them next.
I’m just really grateful I got to be there for this part of Holly’s story too.
